Another View features a selection of works from the Millennium Public Art Gallery’s permanent collection. This exhibition provides visitors with an opportunity to view some of our community-owned art treasures, many are new acquisitions and have landscape references.

Collections of art tell layers of stories and form an important part of a community’s identity. The acquisition and care of works of art is central to a public art gallery's function. The Millennium Art Gallery is the public art gallery for the Marlborough region and collections are held in our care for the benefit and enjoyment of the Marlborough community. Since opening in December 1999, the Gallery has acquired works of art through gift, bequest, and transfer.

The Gallery’s collection includes significant contemporary and historical New Zealand art, and several notable artists are represented. We focus on acquiring art in accordance with criteria set out in our collection policy and management plan.
