Farewell Zealandia: Forgotten Kiwi Songs of WW1

3 February - 19 March 2017

About the exhibition

Farewell Zealandia is an exhibition developed by David Dell of the Musical Heritage New Zealand Trust and Tony Rasmussen of Te Manawa. The Exhibition features forgotten Kiwi songs from WW1 and tells the fascinating stories of the writers and composers. David and Tony worked alongside Radio NZ Concert as they recording these original songs, with the musical arrangements for Salon Orchestra by Brett Lowe. The Exhibition reveals these forgotten songs for the first time. It explores the impact of war through the eyes of these 26 Kiwi songwriters who composed these stunning songs during the turbulent war years of 1914-1918. Toured by Te Manawa Museum, Palmerston North.
